Egyptian was one of the first civilizations to use mathematics. Their system was derived from base ten because of the number of their fingers and toes. Later in their years the Greeks used the abstract qualities of math. However the Egyptians were only concerned with the practical aspects of numbers. The Egyptians would need to concrete items such as the number six. The Egyptian used numbers that was represented by symbols. A rod was represented the number one and a heal bone stood for ten. They many different symbols for many different numbers. Their number system worked very well when they were doing addition or subtraction. When they were doing addition and subtraction they had to put the numbers in a particular order to solve the problem. When it came to multiply the Egyptians faced using their system. Instead of multiplying the Egyptian would double one of the numbers and add the numbers that was being doubled to equal to the other portion of the problem. If the Egyptians wanted to multiply 52 by 14 they would add 52+ 52=104.Then they would add 104+104which equal to 208. Next they add 208+208, which was 416. They knew to stop when they add 208+208 because they knew that 8 doubled was16 and 16 was lager than 14. They would add 8+4+2 which was14. Then they add 416+208+104 together and that was 728, so the answer was 728.
When the Egyptians were dividing they would double their numbers until they reached the number or they were close to the number. For an example if they wanted to divide 132 by 11 then they would add 11 by 11, which was 22. Then they would double 22, which is 44. Next they doubled 44, which was 88. The number 88 doubled was 176, which was lager than 132. So they add 44 and 88 together, which was 132. Four plus eight is 12, so 52 divided by 14 is 12.

Does the government want to protect us? I believe that our constitution resolve conflict. Without the constitution the government would try to take or limit our freedom. The examples I have to back that up with is how the amendments protect our rights, the ideal society, and the separation of powers.

First of all, without the constitution there would not be any amendments, which protect our rights. Like amendment 1, which states that we have the right of freedom of speech and amendment 4 that says that we have the right to be secure. So without the constitution the government could do what ever they wanted to. Without the constitution the government would have all the power and we would have no say. We would not have the right to do anything because we would not have freedom of speech.

Secondly, in the ideal society a bill was passed so we couldn’t be tracked unless we were involved in a crime or something happened and you are in need. Not for unreasonable causes or they just wanted to tracked you. You can also be tracked if you are a suspect in a crime. If this law was not passed then we could be track at any time. The ichip affected the lives of others people. For an example Malik Cooper died because of the ichip. Study shown that he had a brain tummer, so why would they implant the ichip in his brain. Then later the government said that everybody had to get an ichip. If they did not get one then they would be questioned and detained if there answers were suspicious. So the government would rather gain power than think of other people.

Lastly, I believe that it was a good idea to split the power into three branches, the Judicial branch, Executive branch, and the Legislative branch. So that no one had more power than the other. When Touman was president he tried to gain more by ignoring the Taft Heartly Law. Which led him to try to take over the steal mill and he did not have the power to do that. No body should have more power than the other.

To sum it up, I believe that our constitution resolve conflict. Without the constitution the government would try to take over our freedom. They would also try to limit our freedom. I can back this up with is how the constitution protects our rights, the ideal society, and the separation of powers. So without the constitution the government would not be trying to protect our rights. Now you tell me do our constitution resolve conflict.

Government is necessary because without laws people would be out of order. The reason that is true because without laws robbers would be running lose breaking and entering. It would also be under age drinking and driving. The human nature would be brutish and short. We need laws to preserve order in our society.

First of all government is necessary because without laws there would be lots of robbers running lose stealing from people, store, and banks. The robbers would be breaking into homes and stealing your household products. When the robbers are robbbing the bank they are not only stealing from the bank they are taking your life savings. As the robbers keep stealing from the stores the prices will go up because the owners need more money. After a while the robber will start to steal cars and since there is no law it won’t be a crime. So your missing car won’t be important enough to be found because there is no law that says that is a crime. Not being able to walk down the street can be a big problem.

Secondly government is necessary because with the laws that was made it keep us from being selfish and brutish. Like Thomas Hobbes said ‘’humans nature was poor, nasty, brutish, and short’’. Human nature is like that when there is no law because the laws are there to protect us. Laws are there to protect us from destroying one another. For an example when I did a balloon experiment with my class we each split up into groups to see what team could get the most balloons in a small box. The children were popping the team balloons so they could win. The children were destroying the other team balloons because there was no law that said they couldn’t pop the balloons. If there is no law people will do anything when they have no limits.

Lastly, I personally would have to say that the government is to help keep safety in our streets by setting laws such as the drinking or driving law. I take this personally seeing that last summer my best friend got hit by a drunk driver when she was coming home from work at 10:00pm. She was crying and left in the street to die until a stranger called 911. I rush as soon as I could to the Jefferson Hospital and ever since then I never took a like to alcohol.

To sum it up government is necessary because without laws there would be robbers on the loose breaking into homes and killing people every day. It is not fair to take away families without penalties, for them being left out there to keep doing the same thing to other over and over again. Children being in danger of being kidnapped and never being found. Everyone lives in danger when they walk out their home and when their at home. Underage drinking and driving can lead to car crashes and other problems. Think about it, is this the kind of life you want to live. Do you want people to get away with their crimes? Now you tell me do you think government is necessary.

2011

The essay choose to write is 2011. It is about reasons why you are graduating in 2011. I choose it because it had some good transition words. I also though that the sentence structure was good. My essay had a good hook and I think that this was a good subject to write about.

I want you to grade me on voice and conventions.

The question that is being asked is what motivates you to graduate in 2011. Think about it, why let 13 years of your life go to waste, I know I won’t. I will be graduating in 2011 because I have people who supports me along the way, I want to get somewhere in life, and achieve my goals.

First of all, I will be graduating in 2011 because I have people who support me along the way. My family supports everything I do. They support me by encouraging me to do the best I can and to be a success. My teachers also support me by encouraging me to do my best. They help me with my work when I don’t get something. When they teach us something new they put up examples and my sure everybody understands it. Some teacher even stay after school or on their lunch break to help the student out. If those people care for you enough to help you when you need it why let them down.

Secondly, I will be graduating in 2011 so I can make it some where in life. Not graduating in 2011 for me mean that I can’t go to college on time or not go at all. Even if I graduate the next year I will not be able to go to a good college. If I don’t make it to collage I can’t get a good job to support myself. Without a good job I won’t be able to get very far in life.

Lastly, I will be graduating in 2011, so I can accomplish my goals. In order for me to accomplish me goal to become a doctor I have to graduate. If I don’t graduate I can’t get a job as a doctor because I won’t have the education I need to have in order to become a doctor. Another goal I would like to accomplish is to be a success and have a successful life. In order to have be a success and have a successful life I have to finish school because you won’t make it very far in life without a education. Do you think you can get far in life without a education?

To sum it up I will be graduating in 2011 because I don’t want to let the people who support down, I want to get some where in life, and achieve my goals. Now that you read my essay , you tell me are you planning on graduating.
